Il complesso immobiliare si trova ad ovest di Perugia non lontano dal Lago Trasimeno, che si intravvede dai piani alti degli immobili, in zona modernamente sviluppata ma che conserva caratteri territoriali (sociali, agricoli e turistici) sostanzialmente integri.
Cenni storici
Il rinvenimento in loco di urne cinerarie in travertino unitamente a resti di strutture murarie romane ai piedi della collina ove sorge l'insediamento attestano la presenza umana in zona già qualche secolo prima della venuta di Cristo.
Del castello, uno dei pochi nel perugino, si ha menzione nel secolo X in un documento di Ottone III, nel 997.
La chiesa di S. Cristoforo nel 1188 dipendeva dal monastero di S. Maria di Farneta, Val di Chiana.
La cinta muraria dovette andare in rovina nel XIII secolo e fu risistemata tra la fine del Trecento e il 1439, anno in cui l'abitato tornò ad essere indicato come castello.
Dell'antica cinta muraria è ancora visibile la porta di ingresso a sesto acuto.
La chiesa di S. Cristoforo (fuori dalla proprietà e delle mura castellane) è stata ristrutturata nel secolo XVIII. All'interno si possono ammirare affreschi di G. Dottori realizzati nel 1948-49. Sotto la chiesa vi è una grotta, accessibile dalla casa parrocchiale, detta, dal parroco, dei "misteri", interamente scavata nella roccia, di forma rotonda e con la presenza di nicchie. Sulla parete di fondo è riportata una data, 1622.
Curiosità, un cunicolo, di cui non si conosce la funzione, attraversa tutta l'area abitata, parte da un locale a fianco della porta a sesto acuto e giunge all'esterno dalla parte opposta.
Le case poste all'interno di quella che doveva essere la cinta murata presentano chiare tracce di ristrutturazioni avvenute nel corso degli ultimi due secoli. In due di esse sono state inserite le urne cinerarie che furono rinvenute nel corso del '800. Di particolare interesse quella su cui è scolpita una testa di medusa.
L'intero abitato ha avuto vari utilizzi ed è succeduta in proprietà a nobili e ricche famiglie.
